Kabosu, the shiba known for the "doge" meme, has passed away at 18.
I don't think this part of her story gets told in English media much, but she was rescued from a puppy mill as a baby and all of her siblings had died. Her owner, Atsuko Sato, had said that she wanted to make sure Kabosu had an easy and happy life for the rest of her days to make up for that, and she kept her promise. She's been one lucky, happy dog.
The normal lifespan of a shiba is 15 years; she lived a very, very long life, and she was happy and comfortable in her old age. Sad she's gone but happy she lived so well while she was here. Rest in peace, Kabosu.
thinking about how in german “laichen” and “Leichen” is pronounced exactly the same but one means “to spawn” while the other means “corpses”
so “Leichen laichen” means “to spawn corpses” while “laichen Leichen?” means “do corpses spawn?”
